5 Steps To Building Your Credit Score Fast At 18 With No Credit Check
There are a lot of reasons to want to build your credit score fast at 18 with no credit check.
Having no credit or a bad credit score makes it difficult to obtain basic life necessities like buying a cell phone on credit, leasing an apartment without a cosigner, or getting a small car loan so you can stop driving that unreliable POS.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
In less than 4 minutes I’m going to lay out five steps you can take to build your credit quickly, whether you are 18, 21, 25, 30, or 35 years old.
My credit score improved over 100 points in less than 90 days when I implemented these five credit building tools that I am going to review for YOU.
Authorized User or a Tradeline through Tradeline Supply Company (No Credit Check)
The very first thing you will want to do to build your credit score fast at 18, 21, 25, 30 or 35, is talk to a family member about adding you to one of their credit cards as an authorized user.
Adding you to their credit card as an authorized user will not cost any money, and there will be no credit check.
When you are an authorized user on another person's credit card, that account information will appear on your credit and can help to increase your credit score.
This is because your available revolving credit is one of the most significant factors that affect your credit score.
By adding you to their credit card, your revolving credit will increase by the amount on their credit card which will increase your ratio of available money to money that you have on loan.
Also, their monthly credit card payments will appear as actual payments on your credit history.
To recap those benefits to the authorized user:
These are all great and decisive steps to improving your credit score fast at 18, 21, 25, 30, or 35, but there are some risks.
Specifically, if they max out their credit card, your available credit will decrease, and your credit score could be negatively affected.
If they make a late payment on their credit card, that late payment will negatively affect your credit score for years.
Is there an alternative, you may ask?
Yes, let’s discuss a Tradeline by the Tradeline Supply Company.
If you choose to purchase a Tradeline, you will get to select the credit card that you will be added to as an authorized user.
This is an advantage because the people selling the Tradelines make sure that these credit cards keep their available credit limit ratios very low and that they make all their payments on time.
Plus, you will get to choose the available credit limit amount and how long the credit card has been active.
If you are 18, then you do not have a long credit history and purchasing a Tradeline that has been open for multiple years will help increase the length of time the credit bureaus report that you have had credit.
I’d recommend choosing a Tradeline that has been opened for the longest period over one that has a larger available credit limit to get the most benefit at age 18, 21, 25, 30, or 35, or any age.
Credit Builder Loan through Self Lender (No Credit Check)
If you are looking to build your credit fast at 18, 21, 25, 30, or 35 an excellent credit building tool is the credit builder loan.
Let me tell you how it can improve your credit score...
Self Lender will then open a CD in your name at an FDIC insured partner bank and report your new installment credit account to Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian.
You will make monthly loan payments to Self Lender for a period of one year to two years which will be reported each month to the three major credit bureaus.
At the end of the loan term, you will receive the entire loan amount including a small amount of interest.
Here are the steps:
- Select a loan amount ($500 to $2000)
- Make monthly payments, which will report to the credit bureaus
- Get your money back with interest
The credit building tool has been around for many years but only recently has been offered online to the entire U.S. by Self Lender.
Typically, at age 18, with your credit score, there is little to no chance of you receiving an installment loan but with a Credit Builder Loan, not only can you add to your credit mix but with no credit check.
If you are interested in building your credit score fast, a Self Lender loan is a great choice.
Secured Credit Card through OpenSky Secured Credit Card (No Credit Check)
Building your credit score fast at 18, 21, 25, 30, or 35 can only happen if you add a credit card to your credit mix.
Credit cards are considered revolving credit because there is a maximum credit limit but you access the loan in various amounts, and the balance revolves up and down as you use or make payments on the account.
However, if you can't qualify for a traditional credit card, a great way to add that revolving credit aspect to your credit mix is to get a secured credit card, which is an excellent tool for people with bad credit or no credit.
When you are new to credit, the credit card companies do not want to risk giving you an unsecured credit card, but they will offer you a secured credit card.
OpenSky offers a secured credit card with no credit check and only a $200 minimum deposit to open your account.
We've written a full review of them here.
Adding a secured credit card to your mix is an essential step in building your credit score fast at 18, 21, 25, 30, or 35.
Rent Reporting through Rent Report Team, Inc. (No Credit Check)
Do you pay rent?
Did you know that your property manager or property owner is not reporting those rental payments to the three major credit bureaus?
That means every month when you pay your landlord, no one is giving you credit for your rental payment history.
Here’s some excellent news!
It doesn’t have to be this way!
You can sign up to have Rent Report Team notify Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian, of your rental payment each month.
In some instances, they can even go back a year or two and back report your rental payments.
This is an easy way to establish a stronger payment history and show creditors that they can trust you will pay them back.
The cost to set up and have your rental payments reported is exceptionally cheap and will help build your credit score fast at 18, 21, 25, 30 or 35.
Online Catalog Store Credit Card Through Fingerhut
OK, I need to be honest, Fingerhut will perform a credit check when you apply for a online catalog store credit card with them.
But, even though the inquiry will show up on your credit report, you have a very high likelihood of qualifying for credit.
So long as you don’t have any really major negative on your credit history, you should be approved.
I was approved for $1,000 credit line when my credit score was in the high 500's.
Even if you have no credit or bad credit, they have a FreshStart Program designed specifically for you that will help you build your credit score fast at 18, 21, 25, 30, or 35 years old.
Your Fingerhut account won’t include an actual credit card because you can only use the credit to purchase items from their website.
Every month Fingerhut will report your balance and payment history to the three major credit bureaus, Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion.
This is a great way to start improving your credit score through responsible credit building practices.
If you are serious about building your credit score fast at 18, 21, 25, 30, or 35, then you need to start stepping.
I have laid out five solid credit building tools that by themselves will quickly improve your credit history but together could add over 100 points to your credit score in under 90 days.
